Response to Prime Minister

In a week when the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee welcomed the Prime Minister's positive comments on pharmacist repeat prescribing (p611), the Royal Pharmaceutical Society has written to him explaining how pharmacists can contribute to the five areas identified in his challenge to modernise the National Health Service (p610).

Gehe expansion desire

Following its success with the Lloyds Pharmacy chain in the United Kingdom, Gehe wants to form similar chains of pharmacies in European countries, where possible (p615).

IPMI/YPG conference

We report the first joint conference of the Institute of Pharmacy Management International and the Young Pharmacists Group (p633). The conference was told that the public would demand on-line pharmacy, but an opinion poll has shown that most patients have never used the internet (p615).
