Our front cover picture of angel musicians (Mary Evans Picture Library) was drawn by Norman Price for the December, 1911, edition of Century Magazine. It introduces our annual Christmas Miscellany which, as usual, contains a varied selection of articles and a Christmas prize quiz (pp915-943). We also have a prize Christmas crossword (p945).

Scottish health plan

The Scottish Executive has made a commitment to the development of a pharmacy strategy for Scotland. A broader role for community pharmacists is envisaged (p904). The Royal Pharmaceutical Society in Scotland has welcomed the announcement (p910) as has the Guild of Healthcare Pharmacists (p904)
