Our front cover picture of angel musicians (Mary Evans Picture Library) was drawn by Norman Price for the December, 1911, edition of Century Magazine. Scottish health plan

The Scottish Executive has made a commitment to the development of a pharmacy strategy for Scotland. A broader role for community pharmacists is envisaged (p904). The Royal Pharmaceutical Society in Scotland has welcomed the announcement (p910) as has the Guild of Healthcare Pharmacists (p904)

Pharmacy contract

The Government Minister responsible for community pharmacy in England wants to see changes to the community pharmacy contract (p906)

Smoking cessation

With the time for New Year resolutions almost upon us, research has shown that smokers with respiratory diseases are not getting enough advice about smoking cessation (p908).
