Front Cover Picture
Our front cover picture relates to a motion proposed at the branch representatives’ meeting last week. The motion, which called for the Royal Pharmaceutical Society to be restructured to reflect “current political reality” was supported by the meeting, although an additional call for separate memberships and councils for England, Scotland and Wales was rejected. Report (p742).

NPA challenge
The National Pharmaceutical Association has called for a legal ban on “three for two” medicines promotions and for a review of the GSL classification criteria as part of its strategy to mitigate the effects on community pharmacies of the loss of resale price maintenance (p736).

Special general meeting
This week we publish details of the agenda and proposed rules of procedure for the special general meeting of members of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society which is to take place on June 3. We also carry statements from five members and fellows of the Society, including Ashwin Tanna and Philip Walton, both of whom were instrumental in calling the meeting (p746).

Primary Care Pharmacy
This week we carry a report from the first conference organised by our sister publication, Primary Care Pharmacy (p759).
