Front Cover Picture

Our front cover picture has been inspired by the theme of the British Pharmaceutical Conference, which took place in Manchester this week. Our reports highlight the address by the President, Marshall Davies, who told Health Minister David Lammy that pharmacists must receive support and have a degree of certainty in their future if they are to take on roles envisaged for them in NHS plans.

The President also brought delegates up to date with developments in the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s modernisation programme (PDF 80K)

Another highlight was “Chief pharmacists’ question time”, where the chief pharmacists of England, Scotland and Wales were questioned by conference delegates, who heard that patient safety is pharmacists’ raison d’être.

We also carry this week the Science Chairman’s address (PDF 240K).
