Mr Hemant Patel, immediate past President of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, has been awarded a fellowship of the Society for distinction in the profession of pharmacy. Mr Patel, who registered in 1979, has been a member of the Society’s Council since 1993. He is an elected member of the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee and the National Pharmaceutical Association board. A proprietor community pharmacist since 1981, he is also secretary to two local pharmaceutical committees.
A fellowship has also been awarded to Professor G. R. Bailie, who is professor of pharmacy practice at Albany college of pharmacy in the United States. The award is for distinction in nephrology pharmacy.
