Community pharmacy

Centralisation abhorred

From Mrs N. P. Gill, FRPharmS

SIR,—As a retired pharmacist, I am writing to condemn the centralisation of medical practices into "multiplex" surgeries. This means that patients and pharmacists have to travel some distance to reach their doctors' surgeries.
I would not say that this is really in the interest of the patients, but shows the trend towards centralisation which I abhor.
While not necessarily the Superdrug view, I do strongly favour having as many small pharmacies as possible for the convenience of patients and the general public.
