Bemused

From Mr J. McDermott, MRPharmS

SIR,—As one of the 55.6 per cent of the voting electorate who did not cast my vote for the Labour Party at the last General Election, and who did not celebrate "with exuberance and joy" when they were elected to office, I am frequently bemused by the growing disappointment with the present administration, as expressed by those such as Mr Patel and Mr Boorman (PJ, September 4, p361). Those who anticipated "a listening Government with a sense of fairness, equity and strong principles" must surely have recognised a party that was prepared to jettison every principle it ever held for a chance to grasp at the levers of power. Is it really reasonable to hold them to their word now?
