Numark Ltd has increased its rebate to its independent pharmacy shareholders, with an average of £1,365 per pharmacy being distributed for the first half of 1999.
Numark said that the total rebate of £1,705,000 was a 49 per cent increase on the previous year and that the rebate was growing faster than the increase in membership of the group. By the middle of September, Numark had 1,310 pharmacies in membership, an increase of 12 per cent since the beginning of the year. This represents 14 per cent of independent community pharmacies. The company has produced a 10-minute video for prospective shareholders. This gives details of Numark initiatives, such as its concept pharmacy programme and own brand products. Copies of the video can be obtained from Amanda Haddock at Numark on 01827 841213.
Mr Terry Norris (managing director, Numark) told The Journal on September 17 that the company was planning to make a series of announcements at its forthcoming international conference in Malaysia next month.
