Eloxatin infusion

Eloxatin photo Composition: Oxaliplatin 50mg and 100mg.
Presentation: Powder for solution for infusion.
Storage and stability: Store reconstituted solution at 2-8C. If solution is not diluted immediately, do not store for longer than 24 hours. Use infusion preparation immediately.
Action: Cytostatic agent. Oxaliplatin is an antineoplastic drug belonging to a new class of platinum-based compounds.
Indications: First line treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer in combination with 5-fluorouracil and folinic acid.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to oxaliplatin, breast feeding, myelosuppression prior to starting first course, peripheral sensitive neuropathy with functional impairment prior to first course, severely impaired renal function.
Dosage and administration: For adults only. Recommended dose is 85mg/m2 intravenously repeated every two weeks. Adjust dosage according to tolerability. Always administer before fluoropyrimidines. Administer as a two to six hour intravenous infusion in 250-500ml glucose solution 5 per cent. See SPC for details on reconstitution.
Renal impairment, no dose adjustment necessary in patients with mild renal dysfunction.
Hepatic insufficiency, no specific adjusment was performed in clinical trials.
Pregnancy, not recommended.
Elderly, no specific dose adjustment required.
Overdosage: Monitor haematological parameters and give symptomatic treatment.
