The Commonwealth Pharmaceutical Association announced at the Conference on September 15 that two pharmacists from a developing country will be offered training at the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen. The training, which is intended to help the pharmacists raise standards of pharmacy practice in their own countries, has been made possible by a donation of £3,000 from the Commonwealth Pharmacy Support Group, which raised the money at its recent charity dinner (PJ, July 17, p93). The sum had been donated to the group by Reckitt & Colman Ltd, which was keen to see its donation used for a specific project.
Accepting the cheque on behalf of the CPA, the president of the association (Mr John Bell), said: "The knowledge that the pharmacists will take back from Robert Gordon University to their homelands will be of enormous long-term benefit."
