Malaria patch?

A malaria prophylaxis transdermal patch is being developed. Dr Charles Heard (division of pharmaceutical chemistry, school of pharmacy, University of Cardiff) told The Journal on September 20 that his team had found that both primaquine and doxycycline crossed the skin when incorporated in transdermal adhesives. Although in an early stage of development, he was trying to gain the involvement of pharmaceutical companies in the project.
