From Mr E. E. Pratt, MRPharmS
SIR,—In my letter (PJ, January 10, 1998, p59) thanking members for their contributions to the Benevolent Fund, I stated what a caring Society I was privileged to belong to.
To illustrate the caring nature of the Society, I must quote the following instance. A fortnight ago I took my prescription for mood swing control tablets to a Southampton pharmacist. He did not have the full quantity in stock and I suggested that he posted the balance to me. After a few days I telephoned him and he told me that he was having difficulties in getting them and suggested a different strength. However, he managed to get the tablets and this morning I received them by recorded delivery, which must have involved considerable cost. This impressed me a great deal and is just one instance of the pharmacists' service to the public.
