Relenza

Why the price differential?

From Mr S. D. Worthing, MRPharmS

SIR,—I am happy to leave all judgments regarding efficacy, necessity and availability of Relenza to those who are chosen to make such decisions. However, I would ask Glaxo Wellcome how it justifies a National Health Service price of £24 and yet charges only IR£15.32 in the Republic of Ireland where Relenza is allowed under general medical services. At present currency rates this is almost half the UK price.
I await its reply with interest.
