Dangerous remedies?

SIR,—I would like to encourage pharmacists to look afresh at the labels on old, familiar products on their shelves. This could avoid potentially embarrassing confrontations with customers. The following warnings were spotted this week:

• Ask your doctor or pharmacist if suffering from heart or kidney disease, an abnormal increase in blood volume or dehydration
• Side effects include headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, thirst, dizziness, confusion. Heart irregularities have been reported
• If you accidentally take too much, see a doctor straight away

What is this noxious substance? It is a bottle of Thornton & Ross Glycerin, Lemon and Honey with Glucose!
This is surely labelling gone mad. I hope that GPs are ready for the influx of people too frightened to self medicate with these traditional remedies.
