Pharmacies to take part in emergency contraception campaign

Twenty-five pharmacies within the Westway primary care group area in west London are to take part in a four-week campaign aimed at raising public awareness of emergency contraception services and how they can gain access to them.
Starting from November 1, the pharmacies will display large posters in their windows and stock a range of health care information leaflets covering emergency contraception, local family planning services, family planning and methods of contraception. Each pharmacy will maintain a logbook to record any inquiries or interventions during the campaign.
A pharmacist and a member of staff from each pharmacy have attended an evening training seminar. Each pharmacy will receive £300 for participating.
