Drug tariff updates

Because of shortages of generic medicines, the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee and the Scottish Pharmaceutical General Council are releasing lists of medicines for which contractors' endorsements of manufacturer and pack size will be accepted by the Prescription Pricing Authority and the Prescription Pricing Division, respectively.
The lists for prescriptions dispensed during October are given below. Additions to the list are shown in bold type.

England and Wales Azathioprine 50mg tablets (packs of 56 and 100); clomiphene 50mg tablets (30); co-codaprin dispersible tablets (500); flucloxacillin 125mg/5ml oral solution (100ml); flutamide 250mg tablets (84); haloperidol 10mg tablets (50); imipramine 10mg tablets (250); isosorbide dinitrate 10mg tablets (100) and 20mg tablets (100); lormetazepam 500mg tablets (28, 100) and 1mg tablets (100).

Scotland Allopurinol 300mg tablets (both pack sizes); aluminium hydroxide 500mg tablets; aspirin 75mg dispersible tablets; bendrofluazide 2.5mg and 5mg tablets; carbamazepine 400mg tablets; chlorpheniramine 4mg tablets; cinnarizine 15mg tablets; co-amilozide 5/50 tablets; co-tenidone 100/25 and 50/12.5 tablets; diazepam 2.5mg, 5mg and 10mg tablets; dipyridamole 100mg tablets; indapamide 2.5mg tablets; indomethacin 25mg and 50mg capsules; isosorbide mononitrate 10mg tablets; mefenamic acid 250mg capsules; metformin 500mg tablets; metoprolol 100mg tablets; metronidazole 400mg tablets; minocycline 50mg tablets; oxprenolol 20mg and 40mg tablets; penicillamine 250mg tablets; phenobarbitone 30mg tablets; propranolol 10mg and 40mg tablets; quinine sulphate 200mg tablets; spironolactone 100mg tablets; thioridazine 50mg tablets; trifluoperazine 5mg tablets and trimethoprim 200mg tablets.
