Mr Nicholas Wood, FRPharmS, has been appointed secretary of the Institute of Pharmacy Management International, succeeding Mrs Ruth Rodgers. Mr Wood is a former President of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and is chief executive of N. L. Wade Ltd, which owns six pharmacies in Essex. Dr David Upton, MRPharmS, has been appointed director of the Centre for Pharmacy Practice Research, a joint venture between Glenfield hospital, Leicester, and the school of pharmacy, De Montfort university, Leicester. He will retain his position as pharmacy services manager at Glenfield hospital and will be seconded on a part-time basis to the university. As part of the appointment, he has been awarded the title adjunct professor of clinical pharmacy by the school of pharmacy.
