Bus tickets to direct people to pharmacies

Advertisements printed on the back of 11.1m bus tickets during December will direct people to use community pharmacies for their minor illness needs as part of the National Health Service's winter health campaign (PJ, November 6, p733). Messages will also be printed on 1.5m beer mats to be distributed in pubs and clubs and on 2m Post-It notes attached to the Christmas edition of Radio Times magazine.
The campaign will also be using Pharmasite display panels in pharmacies and posters at supermarkets, as well as more conventional advertising in the national press and women's magazines. The NHS Direct telephone service will be promoted in those areas of England in which it is currently running.
