Statutory Committee

THE Statutory Committee will meet at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, 1 Lambeth High Street, London SE1 7JN, on Tuesday, November 16, at 11am, to hear (1) a resumed inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against a pharmacist under the terms of the previous adjournment.
The Statutory Committee will further meet on Wednesday, November 17, at 10.15am, to hear (2) an inquiry into the case of a pharmacist convicted of false accounting contrary to the Theft Act 1968; and to hear (3) an application for restoration from a person whose name has been removed from the register.
The Statutory Committee will further meet on Thursday, November 18, 1999, at 10.15am, to hear (4) an inquiry into the case of a company and its superintendent pharmacist convicted of offences under the Medicines Act 1968. The inquiry also includes a complaint from the Council of the Society against the superintendent pharmacist, which alleges that a number of pharmacy medicines were available for self-selection, that counter assistants dispensed prescription-only medicines in the absence of and without the supervision of a pharmacist, and that no pharmacists was in personal control of the pharmacy at certain times and dates.
