Amitriptyline tablets

APS/Berk is recalling amitriptyline 50mg tablets pack size 100, batch number 8H13DP, expiry date July 2001. The batch is distributed in the livery of Berk Pharmaceuticals. The company has received a report that a pack from this batch contained a single nitrazepam 5mg tablet. The nitrazepam tablet has the same colour coating as the amitriptyline tablet (tan) but is larger in size (12mm diameter compared with 8mm for the amitriptyline tablet) and has the marking 1N4 on one side, with a breakline on the reverse. A small number of packs in this batch may contain one or two nitrazepam 5mg tablets, says the company. Recipients are requested to withdraw stock of this batch from use and contact the customer services manager at APS Ltd, Leeds Business Park, 18 Bruntcliffe Way, Morley, Leeds L27 0JG (tel 0800 5850300 or 0800 526989) to arrange for return and replacement.
