From Mr M. A. Makinde, MRPharmS
SIR,—I have been following recent correspondence concerning the registration examination (PJ, October 16, p638, November 6, p748 and November 13, p785).
Many will agree that it is very disheartening to see foreign-trained professional colleagues and possibly "home-trained" pharmacy graduates doing menial jobs all over the country simply because they have exhausted their "chances".
I sincerely wish the Society would have a change of heart and initiate programmes to help them out, without sacrificing standards, for example, arranging counselling sessions to identify reasons for their poor performance and advising them accordingly.
As earlier suggested, if other health professions are allowed endless attempts, why not pharmacy?
