At the UK Clinical Pharmacy Association autumn symposium in Blackpool on November 20 (see p877), UKCPA Glaxo Wellcome awards were won by Ms Alice Oborne (King's College London) for the best oral presentation, Ms Joanne Stabler (Leicester Royal infirmary) for the best poster, Ms Elspeth Lamont (Gartnavel general hospital, Glasgow) for the best first-time oral presentation and Ms Sheila Duncan (primary care pharmacist, Aberdeen) for the best community pharmacy poster. The photographs show (left) Ms Oborne receiving her award from Mr Duncan Hannant (Glaxo Wellcome) for her paper reporting a study of antithrombotic prescribing and (right) Ms Stabler receiving her award from Mr Hannant for her poster describing an audit of the recording of drug administration and omissions.
