Vancomycin injection

There has been a change in the recommendations relating to the rate of infusion of Faulding Pharmaceuticals's vancomycin hydrochloride injection. The wording under the posology and method of administration section has been changed to: "The desired dose should be given by intravenous infusion over a period of at least 60 minutes." The company says that there may still be some packs, manufactured prior to the amendment, which contain the old package insert. New inserts are currently being distributed to customers and further copies may be obtained from the medical information department at Faulding (tel 01926 821010).
