Emergency contraception

Moral code needed

From Mrs M. E. Martin, MRPharmS

SIR,—Surely we have to have a moral code on emergency hormonal contraception if we are practising Christians. Part of the argument is when does life begin, at conception or implantation?
Even abortion was only meant to be done in extreme cases such as after rape, or grave danger to the mother, when in became legal in 1967.
I would hope that no one would treat a 12-year-old girl without the mother being informed. In any case, sex under 16 is illegal.
