Astra Zeneca award Applications are invited by the Pharmaceutical Sciences Group of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society for the 2000 Astra Zeneca Industrial Achievement award. The award is given annually for oustanding contributions to either the advancement of the pharmaceutical sciences or services to the pharmaceutical industry, with emphasis being placed on how patients or customers have benefited from the efforts of the individual. Special consideration will be taken of activities outside the normal work environment. All pharmaceutical scientists and technologists working in the pharmaceutical industry or the regulatory process are eligible. The award consists of a cheque for £1,000 together with reimbursement of expenses for attendance at the British Pharmaceutical Conference in 2000 to give a lecture on the work. Nominations on behalf of candidates should consist of a curriculum vitae and a statement of no more than 1,000 words on the contribution of their work to the pharmaceutical industry over the past three years. They should be submitted by January 14, 2000, to the Secretary of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Group, Room 406, Royal Pharmaceutical Society, 1 Lambeth High Street, London SE1 7JN.
