Statutory Committee

The Statutory Committee will meet at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, 1 Lambeth High Street, London SE1 7JN, on Tuesday, December 7, 1999, at 11am, to hear (1) an inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against a pharmacist which alleges that the pharmacist failed to comply with the prescriber’s written directions to dispense methadone mixture in instalments, dispensed methadone and diazepam before the dates specified in the relevant prescriptions, and endorsed the relevant prescriptions as if they had been dispensed in instalments and submitted such endorsed prescriptions to the Prescription Pricing Authority for payment; and (2)(3) applications for restoration of persons whose names have been removed from the register.
The Statutory Committee will further meet on Wednesday, December 8, 1999, at 10.15am, to hear (4) an inquiry into the case of a pharmacist convicted of seven counts of deception contrary to the Theft Act 1968, one count of attempted deception contrary to the Criminal Attempts Act 1981 and one count of theft contrary to the Theft Act 1968.
The Statutory Committee will further meet on Thursday, December 9, 1999, at 10.15am, to hear (5) an inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against a pharmacist which alleges that the pharmacist supplied prescription-only medicines without a prescription and endorsed prescriptions to the effect that all items had been dispensed in circumstances where that was not the case and submitted such endorsed prescriptions to the Prescription Pricing Authority for payment.

New Fellows
