NHS learning strategy for Scotland

A new education strategy for the Scottish National Health Service has been launched.
The strategy "Learning together", which was announced on December 3, is supported by £6m over three years to pay for new educational projects in the NHS.
All NHS health boards and trusts will be required to publish annual learning plans, to assess resources allocated to education and training and state how they will align resources with learning priorities linked to service development needs.
The Scottish NHS Management Executive is to review the pharmacy Post Qualification Education Board and examine how it might best work with other educational bodies to develop programmes of shared learning between pharmacists and others.
"Learning together" is available on the internet at http://www.scotland.gov.uk/learningtogether/ on the Scottish Executive's website.
