Self-care is not a revolution in health care, but counter-revolution, a Proprietary Association of Great Britain meeting at the House of Commons heard on November 30. Before the National Health Service revolution in 1948, self-care had been the first line of treatment. Participants agreed that the integration of NHS walk-in centres, NHS Direct, general medical practice and pharmacies was of paramount importance.
