Composition: Activated charcoal 200mg/ml.
Presentation: Oral suspension.
Storage and stability: Do not store above 25C. Do not freeze.
Action: As for other activated charcoal preparations.
Indications: Emergency antidote in the treatment of poisoning or drug overdosage by most drugs and chemicals, before or after gastric lavage.
Dosage and administration: Adults, 250ml (equivalent to 50g of activated charcoal) single dose as soon as possible after ingestion, or suspected ingestion, of the potential poison.
Children, under 12 years, 125ml (25g). Larger doses needed in some circumstances, see SPC for details.

Side effects: Black stools. Bezoar formation, intestinal obstruction and rarely intestinal perforation following multiple dosing.
