Another new fellow

Another pharmacist has been designated as a fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society in addition to the nine announced last week (p894). He is Professor Paul Akubue, an academic pharmacist in Nigeria.
Professor Akubue registered as a pharmacist in Britain in 1963. He was appointed a lecturer at the University of Nigeria in 1967, a senior lecturer in 1972, and professor of pharmacology in 1977. He has also served as head of the university's department of pharmacology and toxicology for a total period of nine years. He is a fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, and served on its executive committee for six years. He is a past president of the West African Pharmaceutical Federation and served on its executive for nine years. He has served as a member of the World Health Organisation expert advisory panel on international non-proprietary names for pharmacies since 1980.
