American Home Products has denied that it has had talks about merging with Pharmacia & Upjohn if the proposed merger of AHP and Warner-Lambert falls through. The Financial Times reported on December 10 that AHP had made contact with P&U in a "quiet testing of the waters", but this was denied by the company.
