Alliance Unichem Plc's European pharmacists forum has formed three standing committees to discuss issues of general concern to pharmacists.
The three committees were formed during the forum's recent meeting in Rome. They are: a political group (chaired by Giancarlo Visini of Italy) which will make contact with Members of the European Parliament, a remuneration group (chaired by David Sharpe of the United Kingdom) which will look at different European models of remuneration, and a model pharmacy group (chaired by Jean-Etienne Martineau of France) which will look at the differing ways in which community pharmacy is evolving in Europe. The standing committees will continue to work outside of the meetings and make presentations at the forum's next meeting, which is to be held in Barcelona in January.
The forum also heard a presentation on internet pharmacy from Mr Barry Andrews (retail director, Alliance Unichem).
