From Dr K. Law
SIR,—I was rather interested in the comments of Phillip Walton (PJ, December 11, p945). He appears to condemn and disparage those pharmacists who oppose, on moral grounds, the proposal that the profession to be able to prescribe emergency hormonal contraception. I am not a pharmacist myself (I am a biochemist), but even in my potential ignorance of your profession it would appear to me that Mr Walton's logic is flawed. He opposes those who believe in the sanctity of life by countering that this amounts to dogma. Yet surely his position is also just a different form of dogma.
