SIR,—Just a little note to thank members for their generosity in making the Christmas hamper available to me, through the Benevolent Fund. It contained a comprehensive selection of good items to eat which I should not be able to afford at this festive time of year.
I opened a pharmacy in Southampton in 1958 to serve the local community, after getting my qualification which fulfilled my ambition of becoming my own master.
Somehow it has been worthwhile and now I think I only exist in relationship to other people.
