From Mr B. Shooter, MRPharmS
SIR,—Helen Remington's letter (PJ, December 18/25, 1999, p981) highlights the problems hospitals have in funding and recruiting pharmacists.
She and others running hospital pharmacies would love to have access to a pool of pharmacy technicians registered by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
The long-term employment consequences to pharmacists are obvious.
Mrs Remington's rhetoric would be better directed to our paymasters. If she and her colleagues on the Council obtained the results our profession deserved, hospitals would have little need for registered technicians.
