The National Health Service Executive is to have a deputy chief executive. He is Mr Neil McKay, who will be accountable to Sir Alan Langlands, the chief executive, for implementing policy, delivering Government targets for the NHS and tackling variations in performance in the service. Mr McKay takes up his new post on January 17 and will be based in London and Leeds.
