Residents of Farington, near Preston, Lancashire, have asked the House of Commons for help in getting permission for a pharmacy to open in their village.
In a petition bearing more than 1,500 signatures, the villagers have asked the Commons "to urge the Secretary of State for Health to review the regulations governing health authorities on the provision of pharmacies to allow South Lancashire health authority to allow a pharmacy to be established in Farington".
The petition was presented to the Commons on December 15, 1999, by the Labour member of Parliament for Ribble South, Mr David Borrow.
