Faulding Pharmaceuticals has recalled all batches of aciclovir for intravenous injection, 250mg/10ml, 500mg/20ml and 1g/40ml, manufactured prior to December, 1998. The company says that this is because of the appearance of small amounts of particulate matter in some vials following storage for more than 18 months at 25C. Batches manufactured from and including this date are not affected. Customers are requested to examine all stocks and remove the recalled vials, which should be quarantined for return to Faulding.
