From Mr A. G. M. Madge, FRPharmS
SIR,—You commented on the role of The Journal in your Millennium issue (PJ, January 1, p3). In the pharmaceutical world, The Pharmaceutical Journal, affectionately known as the PJ, must be congratulated on its long history. It has established itself nationally and internationally for its freedom of thought and expression, the encouragement of new thinking, ideas and challenges. Quoted often, it has carried the banner in extolling the profession. Travelling worldwide often it has been a passport for me in meetings and discussions. A great link with British pharmacy. I recently had a greetings card from a pharmacist who received his PJ two months late. It is all the more welcome and appreciated and maintains the link for him. The Pharmaceutical Journal caters for all facets and sections of pharmacy, including humour.
Long may it continue as a focal point for the profession, including those pharmacists who put it aside for a couple of weeks and then settle down on Sunday afternoon to read and digest and keep up to date on the world of pharmacy.
