Mrs Heather Bunce, MRPharmS, (senior pharmacist, South Cleveland hospital) was a member of a team from South Tees Acute Hospitals NHS trust which gained second prize for a poster on outpatient treatment of patients with deep vein thrombosis presented at the first National Institute for Clinical Excellence conference in Harrogate last month. Two hundred posters were presented at the conference.
Dr Colin Pouton, MRPharmS, has been promoted to reader at the department of pharmacy and pharmacology, University of Bath.

Dr Judith Klahre-Parker, MRPharmS, has been appointed anthroposophic pharmacist at Weleda (UK) Ltd. Dr Klahre-Parker was formerly head of production and quality assurance at the Ita Wegman anthroposophic clinic, Arlesheim, and previously worked at Weleda's Swiss medicinal production laboratories. Mr Kevin Leivers, MRPharmS, has been promoted to superintendent pharmacist at Weleda, succeeding Mrs Shirley Challis, MRPharmS, who is to work part-time ahead of her retirement.
