Statutory Committee

THE Statutory Committee will meet at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, 1 Lambeth High Street, London SE1 7JN, on Tuesday, January 18, at 11am, to hear (1) an inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against a company which alleges that the director of the company, who is not a pharmacist, dispensed a number of prescriptions in the absence of a pharmacist. One of the medicines was dispensed inaccurately and some medicines were found to be not properly labelled.
The Statutory Committee will further meet on Wednesday, January 19, at 10.15am, to hear (2) an inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against a pharmacist which includes allegations that the pharmacist failed to have effective systems in place to ensure that pharmaceutical services provided by his pharmacy were to acceptable standards; and to hear (3) an inquiry into information received which includes allegations that an overseas pharmacist seeking registration with the Society made a false statement to the Department of Social Security in a claim for income support. In this statement, the overseas pharmacist claimed to have been doing no paid work at a time when undergoing approved paid employment.
The Statutory Committee will further meet on Thursday, January 20, at 10.15am, to hear (4) an inquiry into the case of a pharmacist convicted of eight counts of handling stolen goods.
