Yellow cards The Royal Pharmaceutical Society's Hospital Pharmacists Group is holding a meeting on "The yellow card system: a challenge for the pharmacy profession" at the Society's headquarters, London, on February 11.
The aim of the meeting is to promote the reporting of adverse drug reactions by hospital pharmacists and to stimulate further research in the area. Speakers from the Medicines Control Agency, the Committee on Safety of Medicines regional monitoring centres and schools of pharmacy have been invited.
The meeting will hear presentations on the history of ADR reporting by pharmacists and the pilot schemes for yellow card reporting by both hospital and community pharmacists. Research on the factors affecting ADR reporting by hospital pharmacists will be presented. The reporting of ADRs for complementary medicines and paediatric patients will also be discussed.
