Revised excipients handbook available on CD-ROM

The Handbook of Pharmaceutical Excipients - a reference source for those involved in medicines licensing, formulation, development and production - is to be made available in CD-ROM format later this year.
The electronic version is to appear in June. It will be based on the new third edition of the handbook, published on January 20. As well as providing the complete text of the 800-page book, the CD-ROM will offer features such as: graphics presented on demand in separate windows; custom-written full-text searching; hot-linked contents list, index and directory of suppliers; fully functional printing; and a copy and paste facility. The CD will be updated annually.
The handbook is a joint publication of the Pharmaceutical Press (the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's publications division) and the American Pharmaceutical Association. The new edition contains 210 excipient monographs written by a team of more than 120 experts.
The combined package of book and CD is being made available at an introductory price of £241.75 (including VAT). After May 31, the price will rise to £262.75. The UK price for the book alone is £180, while the CD-ROM alone will cost £211.50. Orders should be placed with the Pharmaceutical Press, PO Box 151, Wallingford, Oxfordshire OX10 8QU (tel 01491 829272; fax 01491 829292; e-mail rpsgb@cabi.org). Publications may also be ordered on-line through the Pharmaceutical Press website (www.pharmpress.com).
