The latest addition to the PJ Online website is an area designed specifically for pharmacy students, preregistration trainees and anyone interested in a career in pharmacy. The Pharmaceutical Journal publishes a wealth of information of interest to pharmacy students and those seeking career advice. The aim of this section of the website is to bring all this information together. To access PJ Online for students simply click the "Students" button on the bottom menu of The Journal's home page at www.pharmj.com.
At the moment, two sections are available. The first offers the complete text of Tomorrow's Pharmacist, an annual publication from The Pharmaceutical Journal, which is sent free to schools of pharmacy in the United Kingdom. Tomorrow's Pharmacist contains articles of interest to students and preregistration trainees, ranging from an overview of career options in pharmacy to advice to students on finance, health and study techniques. Other articles cover postgraduate qualifications, assessment in the preregistration year, and the British Pharmaceutical Students Association, as well as case studies from preregistration trainees. All the Tomorrow's Pharmacist articles can be accessed on-line from the contents page.
The second section for students provides information on pharmaceutical education. Those interested in obtaining a degree in pharmacy can obtain details of all the pharmacy degree courses offered by UK universities and approved by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. This area of PJ Online also gives information on postgraduate courses for pharmacists offered by these universities and three others. This information can be accessed simply by selecting the school of interest and clicking the "Go" button. Full contact details are given for each school to enable prospective students to make further inquiries.
Other articles concerning education and careers, including articles from this week's special feature, will be added to the site as they appear in The Journal. In addition, those leaving full time education can access a link direct to the job advertisements section of the site, which each week lists all the job vacancies advertised in that week's issue of the PJ.
