Belgian pharmacists loosen grip on sales

The Belgian Pharmacists Association (APB) has agreed that "parapharmaceutical" products - these include toothpaste, vitamin supplements, shampoo, cosmetics and babyfood - which carry an APB quality mark label may be sold at shops other than pharmacies.
Until now, the APB has insisted that products bearings its commendation should only be sold in pharmacies. Its change of mind follows pressure from the European Commission.
