A Parliamentary Early-Day Motion has been tabled which calls for availability of hormonal emergency contraception to be restricted as a matter of urgency and that access to it should not be widened.
The motion, signed by 8 MPs as The Journal went to press on January 19, says that life begins at fertilisation and that emergency contraception is abortifacient, not contraceptive, because it prevents implantation of the embryo.
