Mrs June Martin, FRPharmS, a retired community pharmacist from Ascot, Surrey, was made MBE in the 2000 new year honours list.
Mrs Martin received the honour for local voluntary work. She is chairwoman of Ascot Volunteer Bureau and Ascot district day centre for the elderly. In addition, Mrs Martin is involved with a carers' support group and co-chairs a local development group for Windsor and Maidenhead social services and a carers' forum for Bracknell Forest borough council.
