Because of shortages of generic medicines, the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee and the Scottish Pharmaceutical General Council are releasing lists of medicines for which contractors' endorsements of manufacturer and pack size will be accepted by the Prescription Pricing Authority and the Prescription Pricing Division.
The lists for prescriptions dispensed during January are given below. Additions to the list are shown in bold/italic type.
England and Wales Aciclovir 200mg tablets (packs of 25); digoxin 62.5mg tablets (28); dothiepin 75mg tablets (28); flutamide 250mg tablets (84); liquid paraffin and magnesium hydroxide emulsion (2L); mebeverine 135mg tablets (100); phenobarbitone 30mg tablets (28); piroxicam 10mg capsules (60); prazosin 2mg tablets (56), 5mg tablets (56); salbutamol 2mg/5ml sugar-free syrup (150ml); temazepam 20mg tablets (28 and 250).
