Wellbeing MET has launched seven health-check screening tests designed for use by the public at home or for testing in the pharmacy. The range includes test kits for prostate problems, digestive disorders, diabetes (net price, single kits, £5.75, retail price, £11.95) and genital herpes (net price, £12, retail price, £24.95), all four requiring a blood sample to be taken. Other kits are tests for bacterial throat infections (which involves taking a throat swab and must be carried out by another person, such as the pharmacist), bowel disorders and cystitis (net price, single kits, £5.75, retail price, £11.95). To help support pharmacists the company has produced a pharmacist resource pack and patient leaflets.
