The Government is to establish a further 34 "phone and go" dental access centres, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Health (Lord Hunt) announced on January 5. Two pilot centres were opened last October and six more are to open shortly.
Each would serve a population of around 250,000. Patients would not need to be registered with the centres and appointments would be available by telephone.
